SPECTRUM F/FORD

SPECTRUM FORMULA FORD - BORLAND RACING DEVELOPMENTS -  www.borlandracing.com

The first Spectrum car was manufactured by Borland Racing back in 1986, since then they have been runnning the cars successfully in the Australian Formula Ford Championships. With Adam Macro becoming the first Spectrum FF Champion in 1998, then Phil Hellebrekers the New Zealand Champion in 2000. Since then a string of drivers has followed on with similar success with the most recent Australian champions being John Martin in 2006, Paul Laskazeski in 2008, and Chaz Mostert in 2010.

2006 also brought the first Spectrum chassis over to the UK with John Martin winning in the car in in his first ever UK race at Brands Hatch.

2006 was also to be the beginnings of MBR becoming involved with the Australian Marque, Alan Docking Racing did some testing with the cars in 2006. But in 2007 the BRD cars were acquired by different teams and competed in the Castle Combe championship run by Wiltshire Motorsport college, and in 2007 Kevin Mills Racing also converted to the Spectrum chassis to then compete in the 2008 FF Duratec Championship.

Both teams have had several successes  since and both have gained many podiums, pole positions and wins to their name.

Wiltshire Motorsport college also gained the Combe Championship with Ben Norton in 2009, and KMR gained the FF Duratec scholarship championship with Daniel Cammish in the same year.

Borland Racing provide a high level of factory support from their base in Melbourne. This support provides the competitor with a superb service for their Spectrum Chassis which is built with high quality race proven parts which you can see from the 011 specification details opposite and there is  the same high quality with the new  012 Chassis that was launched in 2010.

In 2011 & 2012 the Spectrums are run in championships in the USA and Canada and there are more successes with the car.

The Spectrum continues to gain top results at the Walter Hayes Trophy races at Silverstone, and the Combe Formula Ford championship.
